Identification : A large stork with a round head, white neck, and long legs. It has a long, yellowish-brown bill with a gap between the upper and lower mandibles. The head, neck, back, chest, belly, and shoulders are whitish-yellow, contrasting with the black wing bases, wing coverts, wingtips, and tail. Legs and feet are pale pink.
Juveniles have light brown heads, necks, and chests, with darker-colored legs.
Commonly found in wetlands, ponds, canals, swamps, and rice fields. It often appears in large flocks, foraging for prey, especially apple snails, around water sources.
