Barn Owl

Identification : This is a medium-sized owl known for its heart-shaped facial disc and large, black, round eyes. Its plumage varies depending on its geographic range but typically includes black and white spots scattered across the upper body. The wing coverts are yellowish-brown mixed with gray, and the bird has a large, rounded head.

The facial disc can be pure white or tinged with orangish-brown. It primarily hunts rodents and is active at night, especially in open areas.

Its flight is slow and silent. During the day, it roosts in old buildings, tree hollows, caves, or even man-made nest boxes. Its call is a harsh, eerie screech.
