Identification :
Male: The head and upperparts are yellowish-green. The throat and upper breast are iridescent blue, followed by a narrow reddish-brown band, and then a narrow black band below that. The belly and undertail coverts are bright yellow. There is an orange tuft on the sides of the breast, usually hidden under the wings and rarely seen.
Female: Has a faint yellowish eyebrow. The head and upperparts are yellowish-green, with a black tail. The underparts are bright yellow.
This species inhabits open forests, forest edges, parks, and forest plantations.
Its call sounds like wii wii wiiid.
A very common resident bird.
